    Colors in the Wind

The base standing just over 8 feet tall, holding ball bearings allowing free flow to spin with the wind.

The small disks contributed inertia to retarding motion. Inspired by Calder. Commissioned by Joseph Gallagher. After finding the mass of steel, several calculations and thinking out the designs, Joseph handed over the drafts and I fabricated and welded everything together. We sent it off to get it sandblasted and he painted the discs in primary colors, black rods, and base in white all with industrial-strength OSHA approved paint.
